Flower hair accessories come in every size and shape imaginable.  There are lotus hair flowers that can be larger than a head, or flower hair pins that are no bigger than a quarter.  I’m sure that you have a ton of hair accessories already and have a good idea of what you’re looking for, but when it comes to hair flowers there are a few other things that you should know.

The most important thing to consider when shopping for hair flowers is the hairstyle you plan to wear it with, or what your hair is normally like.  A hair flower that looks great with one style can look awkward with another.  The things to watch out for is the width and profile of the flower.  Very large hair flowers (5-7 inches wide) can be worn with up-dos and “big” hairstyles, and will add more volume to the style.  If you were to wear flowers of this size with your hair down it would look like a hat!  A large hair flower with a low profile will look great as an accent to a big hairstyle, while a high profile flower would look like it’s competing with your hair for the focal point.
