The unconscious beauty of a burgundy rose is well caught in this hair flower that I made. I mixed a fantastic rose with some peacock feathers for an eye catching duo. The V formation of the peacock feathers is a fun way to mix up the hair style routine. The shimmer of color in the varying shades of peacock feathers catches some of the deep purple in the rose and the green of the leaf behind it. This hair flower is so great to see in person. Such an elegant and yet still fun hair accessory.

The flower itself is only 3 inches wide. Peacock feathers come from the top on the right and the left. Those measure at 8 inches across. From the top of the peacock feathers to the bottom of the rose it measures at 7 inches. It is just shy of 3 inches tall. Burgundy is a hard color to pinpoint in this rose. It has so many various colors in the same field as burgundy, but those shades make the colors deep and rich. From the top you can see some of the leaves that cradle the flower, and also the leaf that serves as the back drop that the feathers and flower are attached to.

This is one of my coolest flowers that I have made to date. Experimenting is always fun. I know it is very hard to imagine how many hair styles that this can go into, but I think one of the best is a fancy up do with this rose attached to the top with curls surrounding it. Let your imagination run wild with this one!

Orchids are becoming such a prized flower. So delicate and simple, but they are difficult to grow and maintain. What better way to keep this flower every day, than to make it a hair flower?! I love white orchids with just a burst of color at the center. This white orchid has a simple pink center with a few small black dots. I added some beautiful black and white feathers to the head band for a very simple background. This head band is very simple and sweet.

The headband is a 1 inch wide headband at it widest point. At the ends it tapers off to half an inch. It is a very comfortable head band, with black nylon fabric wrapped around for a very clean look. The orchid measures just over 4 inches at its widest point. Three black and white striped feathers sit up against the headband concealed by a leaf to hold them on. At the base of the orchid, I masked the end with a very tiny leaf. The head band wears best with the flower on the right side of the face, because it is positioned to sit forward in that direction.

I think this head band is a great combination of interesting flower, feathers, and leaves. It would make a great gift for a friend or for yourself!

Dahlias represent the thought “forever thine.” This flower will always be in my collection. It is a big bright beautiful flower that makes me feel so glamorous when I wear it. It is one of the larger hair flowers that I make, but it stands out because it has so many petals. At well over 50 petals, it is still a relatively light flower (weight). My favorite way to wear dahlias in my hair is by making a huge bun and placing it right on the side of the bun, closer to my face. These fantastic flowers are so delicate in real life that I am so happy to have one like this that won’t fade in a few days!

The pink dahlia hair flower measures 7 inches in diameter and sits about 2 inches tall. Colors inside the dahlia vary from light green to a pastel pink to a bold bright pink at the edges of the petals. I attach a strong double pronged clip onto the center of the back. There is one green base leaf, but from the front you never see it because the flower is so big it covers it.

A pink dahlia is a huge eye catcher! This awesome hair flower stands out loud and proud. I love love love this flower. Enough said!

Day lilies are such a wonderful flower in nature. They protect themselves by closing at night, and pollinate by being open during the day. There are countless colors and varieties of day lilies, but I think this magenta color is by far one of my favorites. This flower makes me feel so tropical when I wear it in my hair. It is so bold and simple. It can be worn behind the ear, next to a pony tail, pretty much any way you want!

Lily flowers are so hard to measure because the six petals all open to varying lengths.  This flower is about 5 inches wide and 4 inches across, but as I said before that changes with every petal you measure. From the bottom of the longest petal the day lily is about 4 inches tall. I added a few of the bright green leaves to this clip to really make it pop. On the petals, there is faint spotting and stripes towards the center of the flower. The bright magenta is such a knock out color. I attached the flower to a sturdy double pronged metal clip wrapped in ribbon. Leaves are wrapped around the base of the flower to conceal the end, and help secure it to the clip.

I love lilies. I have a lily like this in my collection to wear. It is a versatile and fun flower that is so beautiful in any hair style!

The splendid beauty of the yellow amaryllis is wonderfully displayed in this awesome hair flower that I made. I left this flower very simple and it stands out because of that. It is a bright yellow open lily that is perfect for any hair style. I love to wear this type of flower in a sweet retro up do.

This yellow amaryllis hair flower is open very wide and has a very simple stance. The flower measures 4 inches across the opening.  It sits about 3 inches high from the clip. Coming from the center, there are a few green stripes that match the leaf on the back. There are faint hints of orange at the base of the petals. Two of the petals have a faint red edging to them. This makes the flower look so real. I have attached the flower to a strong double pronged clip that will hold in any hair style.

The yellow amaryllis hair flower is such a little gem. It screams happiness when you look at it. I think this hair flower would stand out in jet black hair, and would be a tropical treat for any do!

Anemone flowers stand for expectation and anticipation. These extraordinary flowers are so elegant. The white and pink anemone is so striking that you can’t help but look at it. Soft pink paints the white petals from the center out. This anemone hair flower is excellent for all hair styles and I think  that it would go with any outfit. I would wear this flower during the winter when it is cold and dreary, this flower would definitely change the mood around.

My white and pink anemone is 4 and a half inches in diameter. With the extra leaf placed behind it the hair flower is 5 inches across. Measuring from the clip up this beauty is 2 inches tall. The bright pink on the petals seems as though it is painted onto the white. The pistil (center) is bright green and the stamen surrounding it are a pale green with touches of pink mixed in. The leaf that is placed behind it matches the green color of the pistil and is smooth in texture.

A fantastic creation of nature, this flower is an awesome accessory to any hair style. I think it kicks ass.

Living in California, I see poppy flowers all the time. Poppies are the state flower. Orange poppies cover the mountains during the spring here. So I thought this would be the perfect flower to make into a hair clip. I love the colorful cheeriness that this flower has to offer and I put a small bud right next to it. An orange poppy hair flower can go with so many spring and summer dresses. This hair flower is an excellent choice for any hair style.

I used a strong double pronged clip to attach the poppy to. The fuzzy leaves are a pale green, so the bright hue of the flower really stands out. In the center of the poppy it has slight yellow and green tones and the outer portions of the petals are a vibrant orange. The pistil (center) is yellow and furry and is surrounded by stamen that are orange and yellow. The baby bud is positioned right next to the large open poppy and is also orange with green leaves encasing it. Leaves included, this orange poppy hair flower measures just shy of 7 inches long. Measuring from the top of the large flower to the bottom, it is 4 inches wide. From the clip up, the height is just over 2 inches.

The poppy flower stands for imagination and dreams. I think that this hair flower is just that!

Head bands are so much fun for me to make. I love the feminine way that they just pull back the hair off the face. An excellent addition to that is a bright purple anemone! I have made other head bands but I really think the simplicity of this awesome flower makes it really stand out. The purple flower is not as big as the other anemone hair flowers that I make so it fits perfectly onto this simple navy blue head band.

The head band itself is a smooth nylon braided navy blue band. It is a regular adult size head band, but I am sure that it would fit even a smaller girl. The ends of the headband or wrapped for comfort, and this makes it and easy wear all day long. I placed a few green leaves on either side of the flower to give it a little bit of flare. The bright purple petals have just a hint of white at the center of the flower. My anemone measures at 4 inches in diameter. From the head band to the top of the flower is 2 and a half inches tall. Head bands make switching the flower to one side or the other so simple. One day on the right and then next on the left! The anemone is positioned to sit right at the temple of the face.

This is a great hair accessory for any girl! If you are a head band wearer this would be the one for you!

Amaryllis is another variety of lily, also known as the Belladonna Lily. These awesome flowers are so simple and beautiful. This double yellow amaryllis is perfect for wearing your hair in a pony tail and clipping the flowers on the side, vertically, or wearing just above the pony tail, horizontally. The yellow amaryllis hair clip is bright and cheery, perfect for the summer.

The double yellow amaryllis measures 5 and a half inches long and 4 inches wide. The secondary lily that is on this clip is slightly smaller than the the other. I positioned a leaf  between the two to give the effect that you might have two flowers in your hair, not just one. Colors of pale green and soft orange come from the center of both flowers. A couple of the petals have a really faint edging of red to them.  At its tallest point the large flower sits just under 3 inches and the small flower sits at 2 inches. I used a strong double pronged clip attached to the back. I used the leaves from the flower, to try and hide the clip, giving it a more tropical look.This amaryllis hair clip is really awesome, it has so many versatile styles that you can wear it with in your hair.

I love making flowers that are double on a clip. I think that more can be done with the clip because it has to sides of flowers instead of one. You could put this amaryllis hair flower into any hair and it would look fantastic.

At Lucy’s Blooms I love to make big flowers! This deep pink zinnia is just that. Perfect for a large hairstyle, like a bun or a quick up-do with lots of volume, this bold zinnia stands out to make a fashionable statement. I love this flower with big funky fun hair and to top it all off a real looking pink zinnia! The zinnia has so many petals that it is a very full flower. Winter, spring, summer or fall this pink zinnia is great for any style outfit. A knockout flower.

The pink zinnia hair flower is 5 inches in diameter and the leaves behind it add just about an extra inch where ever they pop out. The color is listed as pink but this isn’t your every day average baby pink. The pink of this zinnia is a mix between magenta and hot pink. The pistil (center) is a fuzzy green and yellow ball with cornmeal yellow stamen around it.  There has to be at least 50 petals that make up this full flower. All the petals bring the height of this zinnia to 2 inches.

The pink zinnia is one of my favorite flowers in my collection. This is the flower I get the most compliments from whenever I wear mine!
